Utah, like many other states that pride itself on community and family values, has slightly less of a drug and alcohol problem compared to the national averages. Nonetheless, there are still about 185,000 people in the state aged 12 and over with substance abuse issues who are in need of help.

Just under 10 percent of the people with substance use disorders in the state actually receive the help they need (about 17,000) by enrolling in a treatment program. Despite working to expand the availability of treatment services in Utah, there are still far too many people in the state who are going without the rehabilitation help they need each year.
